3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Airport Transfer & Overnight

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide. After a short briefing about your tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kigali.

Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the lodge or take a short optional city drive.
Overnight: The Travellers Guest House

Day 2: Kigali City Tour – Cultural Experience – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, begin your guided Kigali city tour. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, an important site that tells the story of Rwanda’s history and resilience. Continue to key landmarks such as local markets and museums for deeper cultural understanding.

After lunch, drive north to Musanze, the base for Volcanoes National Park. In the afternoon, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where you will experience traditional dances, local crafts, storytelling, and daily rural life.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking – Twin Lakes Visit – Transfer to Kigali

After an early breakfast, transfer to Volcanoes National Park Headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing by park rangers. You will be assigned a gorilla family and begin your trek through the forest.

Trekking duration varies depending on the gorilla group’s location. Once found, you will spend one magical hour observing the gorillas before hiking back.

After lunch at the lodge, visit the scenic Twin Lakes (Lake Burera & Lake Ruhondo) before driving back to Kigali for your evening departure flight.
