Day 1: Transfer from Kampala / Entebbe to Kibale National Park
Your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe International Airport. Begin a scenic 5–6-hour drive to Kibale National Park in western Uganda. The journey passes through beautiful countryside, tea plantations, and rural villages.
Lunch will be served en route. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and relax after the journey. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Habituation Experience – Kibale Forest
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters by 6:30 a.m. for a detailed briefing. Accompanied by researchers, trackers, and park rangers, you will enter the forest to locate a semi-habituated chimpanzee community.
Once found, you will spend up to four hours observing their daily activities—feeding, climbing, social interaction, and communication. This extended time offers incredible photography opportunities and deep learning about chimpanzee behavior.
After the experience, attend a debriefing session and return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Rushaga Sector)
Enjoy breakfast, check out, and begin your transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, traveling through scenic landscapes of western and southwestern Uganda.
Lunch will be taken en route. Arrive in the Rushaga sector, check in at your lodge, and spend the evening relaxing in preparation for the next day’s gorilla experience. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 4: Gorilla Habituation Experience – Bwindi Forest
After an early breakfast, transfer to the Rushaga briefing point with packed lunch. Rangers will guide you through safety procedures and expectations for the gorilla habituation experience.
Enter the dense rainforest with researchers and trackers in search of a semi-habituated gorilla family. Upon locating them, you will spend four uninterrupted hours observing their interactions, feeding habits, and social structure while learning directly from experts.
Return to the starting point for a debriefing and head back to your lodge for rest, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – Boat Cruise & Sightseeing
After breakfast, drive to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most picturesque destinations. Arrive at your lakeside lodge, check in, and enjoy lunch.
Later, embark on a boat cruise across the calm waters of the lake. Discover several of the 29 islands, including Akampene Island, and enjoy birdwatching and photography against a stunning backdrop of terraced hills.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Return to Kampala / Entebbe – Departure
Enjoy breakfast, check out, and begin your return journey to Kampala via Kabale, Mbarara, and Masaka. Stop for lunch in Mbarara before continuing to Kampala.
Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport, marking the end of your 6-day Uganda chimpanzee and gorilla habituation safari.
